Multiple award-winning actress Judy Ann Santos has added yet another award to her name, winning the award for Best Actress for her role in the horror film "Espantaho." Santos received this honor at the 45th International Film Festival Fantasporto in Portugal, an event that showcases genre films including fantasy, science fiction, and horror.
Her husband, leading television host Ryan Agoncillo, shared photographs of her holding the prestigious award. This is Santos' second major win for her role in "Espantaho," following the Best Actress award at the 2024 film festival in Manila.
The director of the film "Espantaho" is Chito Rono, and the cast also includes veteran actors - Lorna Tolentino, Chanda Romero, and Janice de Belen. Santos becomes the fourth Filipino artist to be honored at the festival, following Barbi Forteza, Yna Asistio, and Kristen Reyes. In her acceptance speech, Santos expressed pride in representing the country on a global stage. "Napakaganda ng souvenir na mauuwi ko mula sa Fantasporto," she said.
