Controversies surrounding Miss Universe 2025 continue. Following accusations from the representatives of Côte d'Ivoire and Norway against the international pageant, the Portuguese representative, Camila Vitorino, has now joined the chorus of critics.

In a message she shared, she exalts in being proud to be a mother and married, but not before taking a firm stance against the competition by stating that no married woman could win it.

In the text she shared on Instagram—in three languages: English, Portuguese, and Spanish—Camila said she felt "obligated to speak, not to justify myself, but to protect what is legitimately mine: my integrity." She stated that she no longer feels "represented by the principles that the Miss Universe organization has chosen to defend."

"I find it unfair to blame the behavior of 120 candidates who endured 20 days of uncertainty, pressure, and sometimes even fear," she revealed.

She recounted that during the concentration in Thailand, a situation occurred where "I knew my journey had come to an end."

During a conversation between the organization and the contestants, "it was said that the reigning queen had no boyfriend because there was no time, that her commitment was to the community and her marriage was to the project. My heart raced. I froze. I looked around, hoping I had misunderstood."

Several contestants, married or in relationships like me, were visibly hurt.

"However, I chose faith. Your strength is limitless, and the world needs your authenticity now more than ever," she pointed out.

Camila wrote: "To the women, the mothers, the wives, and the girls who dream: Never let anyone confine you."

"Never accept that they tell you that you must choose between love and ambition, between family and the stage, between who you are and who you aspire to be," she added.

"I choose to demonstrate, to the very end, what truly guides me," Camila Vitorino concluded.
