In Portugal, the Integrar Program has been launched, an initiative aimed at facilitating the integration of foreign workers into the local labor market. Through this program, foreigners will have access to various support services, such as training, skills assessment, and assistance in job searching.
Currently, Portugal is facing a labor shortage, similar to other European countries, as well as dealing with the aging of its population. For this reason, the integration of immigrants into the labor market is considered crucial for boosting economic growth and addressing the lack of personnel in several sectors.
The Integrar Program is specifically targeted at people registered with the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (IEFP) who find themselves in situations such as unemployment, seeking their first job, changing careers, or interested in vocational training. Through this program, a profile analysis of the participants is conducted, employment and training plans are defined, needs for learning Portuguese are assessed, qualifications are evaluated, and competencies are developed to help foreign workers overcome cultural and social barriers.
The registration process for the Integrar Program is carried out through the IEFP offices, where guidance is provided at each stage to those interested. Participants will receive a personalized plan created by the IEFP after an individual consultation to ensure assistance tailored to their needs.
