English golfer Chris Wood has won the title at the Royal Algarve Classic, the second event of the new MENA Golf Tour season. The tournament was held at the O'Connor course at the Amendoeira Resort in Portugal. This tour is a leading Emirati initiative and the only one in the region recognized by the Official World Golf Ranking.
Wood's victory came after he finished the competition with a total of 16 under par, benefiting from a final-round score of 5 under par, for a total of 67 strokes. This secured the win for the former Ryder Cup star, who had previously topped the tour's qualifying rankings about two weeks ago. The difference this time was that he earned a prize of $18,000 from the total prize pool.
